What's a slip short?
We’re glad you asked. Think of them as a combination between an old-school slip and a bike short: They give you coverage under short or too-sheer outfits, smooth over underwear lines (the word “panties” weirds us out, too), and stop your inner thighs from trying to start a forest fire.
Are they shapewear?
Thigh Society shorts don’t compress you or suck you in like shapewear. Instead, they’re a lightweight, breathable, sweat-wicking essential you’ll reach for again and again.
What's the waistband like?
Flexible and stretchy, our waistband is made from the same fabric as the shorts, just double-folded and sewn-in. It stretches to your curves, never cuts into them. The waistband is like the Loch Ness Monster: you’ll doubt it really exists.

I'm loving my new slip shorts! I'm a new customer who bought these to wear under dresses in the summer to prevent gross thigh stick, and for biking.
I wasn't sure which version I would like, so I got the Staple in the 5" inseam M/L (black), and the cooling in the 7" inseam M/L (denim blue). The first thing I noticed was that the waist of the staple came up much higher than the cooling pair. It might be because the material is thicker, so it's designed that way so that it won't roll down, where as the cooling fabric is thinner, they can get away with a lower cut. It did seem like the overall length of the shorts were the same, and the placement of the crotch is what's different (to produce either the 5" or the 7" inseam). They are different styles however, so this might just be coincidence. I did find the 5" inseam too short for me because they rode up my thighs a bit.
If you are worried about where the waist will sit, and don't love super high rise stuff, I would go with the cooling style! This one was my favourite and I will be buying more of these!
I was unsure about this product living up to expectations. They are light and non restrictive. It does not feel like I am wearing an extra layer. No chafing after wearing all day and they stayed in place. I wish I had purchased 2 pairs instead of one when I first ordered.
These fit nicely and work well under dresses and skirts. I do prefer the Cooling pair I have but these are great too.
I have worn my new slip shorts 2-3 times and I am SOLD! As others say, they are very comfy; stay in place; breathable and do what they're intended to do. Highly recommend!
I love these more than bike shorts as they are thin and VERY stretchy. My only disappointment is that the size guide suggests sizing down as they are very stretchy, however I checked my measurements and found that these shorts visibly squeeze my thighs, and ride up into my crotch. I am pulling them down all day. I also feel they are VERY long (almost to my knees!) so take note of that when you order your length!
The material is irritating for me as I have sensitive skin, I am looking forward to trying the cotton when my size is back in stock.
